Trauma Conscious Yoga (Clinical)

Trauma Conscious Yoga (TCY) encourages the opportunity to be in the present moment through bringing awareness to the breath and the physical sensations of the here-and-now.

TCY uses explorative movements, grounding/mindfulness, breathing practices, and the occasional guided meditation. In addition, we practice the use of interoception, where we are moving the body and feeling the body in the present.  At the most basic level, interoception is the ability to perceive the internal state of our bodies and allows us to answer the question, 'how do I feel?’

The group includes psychoeducation piece to tie in somatic practices with clinical group work. Please reach out for a document FAQ on TCY.

Couple Holding Hands

Pre-Marital

The pre-marital and marital assessment is a highly effective PREPARE/ENRICH Program. The goal of the program is to build stronger couple relationships and marriages. It has been used by over 100,000 counselors, clergy, chaplains, and mentors in their outreach to premarital and married couples. National studies have demonstrated that the program is highly effective in helping couples develop their strengths and overcome ongoing issues. I’m confident you’ll find my personalized pre-marital and marital counseling beneficial and inspirational.

Premarital counseling gives couples an opportunity to gain insights into growth-areas in their relationship, and identify strengths to build on. By understanding personality differences, couples can better prevent conflict and develop a better skill set to handling disagreements. Learning skills to manage conflict prior to the marriage can set the tone for healthy communication and understanding.

This is a closed group where members will join the group at the beginning and end together (about 6-10 sessions). The PREPARE/ENRICH online assessment costs $35.

Therapy Session

DBT Informed for Substance Use

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) encourages a balance between change and acceptance so that a person is empowered to take steps towards a drug-free life. As therapy progresses, a person learns how to control urges or cravings, manage unhealthy emotions, develop relapse prevention skills, and set positive and affirming goals.

In addition, the program integrates the 12-Step Program into the curriculum to reinforce the benefits of an empirically evidenced approach.

Together, these changes nourish sobriety and create better mind-body-spirit balance. The program places an emphasis on building a sustainable quality of life, while also working to decrease behaviors that cause harm.
